The Banshee
Description
The Banshee is less a quiet pint spot and more a full-on sports hub—if there’s a match on somewhere in the world, chances are it’s on here. Spread across two floors with 16 screens, it’s built for watching sport properly. Football (soccer) is the main event—especially Premier League and UEFA Champions League—but what makes it stand out is the mix of supporters. It’s known as a bit of a Chelsea F.C. stronghold, but you’ll also find fans of Everton F.C., Manchester United F.C., and Manchester City F.C. all in the same room.
It’s not just football either. Rugby, basketball, ice hockey, and Major League Baseball are all covered, along with full NFL Sundays. Fans of the Green Bay Packers, in particular, are very much at home here, with a strong showing on game days. The atmosphere matches the setup: lively, loud, and properly engaged,
especially during big fixtures. Outside of sport, there’s trivia, comedy nights, and live music, so it keeps ticking even midweek.
Food is better than you might expect for a place this focused on screens. The fish and chips are a standout (and easily shared), alongside the chicken Caesar salad pizza and a solid clam chowder. There are also vegan and vegetarian options, which helps with mixed groups.
Service holds up well under pressure—quick, friendly, and used to busy crowds. There’s also a private upstairs space that works well for events or watch parties if you’re organising something.
In short: noisy, energetic, and unapologetically sports-focused. If you want a quiet pint, look elsewhere. If you want your team on screen, a crowd to match, and a proper atmosphere—you’re sorted.
