Cronin’s Publick House feels like the sort of place that quietly wins people over. No fuss, no pretence—just a proper local pub that happens
to serve great food. Family-owned and run, it leans into that “you’re not just another customer” approach, and it shows. The space itself is classic pub: a well-worn bar up front, booths and tables tucked along the sides, and Irish landscape paintings that give it a touch of home for anyone who’s spent time out west in places like Mayo or Connemara.

The menu is where it pulls ahead of the pack. Yes, you’ll find the usual pub staples—burgers, wings, shepherd’s pie—but the standout is the steak tips. They’re often mentioned in the same breath as New Bridge Cafe and Floramo’s, which is saying something locally. The turkey tips are just as strong, and there’s a proper range beyond that: spicy Cajun chicken soup, a solid clam chowder, a chilli with a proper kick, and a surprisingly good bar-style pizza (though, to be fair, few can touch Lynwood Cafe on that front).
