Irish Village
Description
The interior mixes dark wood, cozy booths, and comfortable seating with details that reflect its long history. Framed black-and-white photographs of the Irish Village Soccer Club line the walls, while vintage beer mirrors, classic Guinness advertising, and other memorabilia give the bar a sense of living history. A central wooden bar, dart boards, and big-screen TVs make it an easy place to settle in for a match, whether that’s soccer from home or a Red Sox game.
In 2023 the Irish Village expanded into the former bakery space next door, creating a stylish lounge area that hosts trivia nights, open mic events, karaoke, and live music every Friday and Saturday. The pub is particularly proud of its carefully poured Guinness, widely regarded as one of the best pints in the area. Simple pub snacks like toasted cheese “toastie” sandwiches pair perfectly with a pint. They’re also fine with you ordering food from the nearby Pizza place and Chinese Restaurant.
Despite the updates, the atmosphere remains relaxed and welcoming. Regulars chat at the bar, groups gather in the lounge, and visitors are always encouraged to join in. It’s the kind of place where locals know the staff by name, Irish travelers are told to stop in when they visit Boston, and anyone can walk through the door and feel at home with a pint in hand.
