The Burren
Description
The Burren has been serving Davis Square since 1996 and is widely known as one of the area’s most authentic Irish pubs. Just steps from the Red Line, the Somerville Theatre, and a short walk from Tufts University, it’s a natural gathering place for locals, students, and visitors alike. The pub offers a warm, traditional atmosphere paired with a strong food menu and a wide selection of beers, cocktails, and wine.
Classic Irish dishes are a highlight. Favorites include the Guinness beef stew, fish and chips, and vegetarian shepherd’s pie, along with a range of vegetarian and vegan options. The bar is also known for well-poured pints of Guinness and a solid lineup of draft beers.
Live music is a major part of what makes The Burren special. The venue hosts nightly performances featuring local, national, and international musicians across a wide mix of genres, from Irish traditional and folk to bluegrass, jazz, rock, and indie. Sports fans will also feel at home, with regular coverage of American leagues as well as European soccer, rugby, and Gaelic games.
With good food, well-priced drinks, and music nearly every night of the week, The Burren has become a long-standing centerpiece of Davis Square’s pub scene.
